Specialty Magnetic Solutions

Round Nose/Bullnose Plate Magnets
Ideal for high-tonnage or fast-flowing product applications, the RE80 Round Nose/Bullnose Plate Magnet features a high-intensity +11,000 gauss Separation Bar for added protection. This design prevents dislodged fragments from re-entering the product stream by safely diverting them to the underside of the magnet, ensuring enhanced contamination control and product safety.

Revolutionizing traditional “hump-magnets,” the Round Nose/Bullnose Plate Magnet is available in single or dual configurations for gravity drop or sloping chute applications. Featuring adjustable positions and powerful magnetic splitter bars, these systems maximize separation efficiency without obstructing product flow. Hinged doors allow easy access for cleaning and maintenance, making them a practical solution for demanding environments.

Dimple-Mag® Plate Magnets
The RE80 Dimple-Mag Extraction System integrates a specially designed dimpled plate to optimize product flow and separation. The dimple feature creates turbulence, breaking up product material and exposing metal fragments to the +11,000 gauss Separation Bar. This system prevents debris buildup and improves extraction efficiency, making it perfect for industries handling materials like leaves, grape stalks, and debris-prone products.

Applications

  • Dry ingredients such as flour, meat & bone meal, grain

Explore the FAQs below to get started.

Are plate magnets manufactured with RE80 magnets?

Yes. Magnattack’s Plate Magnets are manufactured with 11,000 gauss RE80 magnets.

What is RE80?

Magnattack and RE80 guarantee quality and performance to our valued food industry partners. RE80 is a patented technology which gives our customer’s assurance of advanced and updated magnetic materials technology.

RE80 provides our customers with the assurance that Magnattack equipment is built with high-quality rare earth magnets, avoiding the low-cost, inferior magnets often used elsewhere. This guarantee represents our commitment to delivering proven, long-term magnet strength and resistance to factors like oxygen absorption and resonant vibration—two major causes of demagnetization in standard rare earth magnets.

At Magnattack, RE80 is our promise of quality and reliability to our valued partners in the food industry. It signifies our dedication to incorporating advanced and updated magnetic materials technology. We understand that customers value RE80 as protection against a growing trend where magnet manufacturers use low-cost, imported magnet sub-assemblies, often only manufacturing the stainless steel housing locally. Such magnets may meet initial strength requirements but lack long-term reliability.

At Magnattack, we meticulously ensure that the chemical and structural composition of every rare earth element meets RE80 specifications. Any material found to fall outside these tolerances is quarantined and not used to maintain RE80’s high quality standards.

What is a Round Nose or Bullnose Plate Magnet?

These systems are built with RE80 technology and are equipped with a high-intensity 11,000 gauss separation bar, providing protection against dislodged fragments and preventing re-contamination of food products. The deep field capability of the Magnattack plate magnet ensures enhanced control over foreign metal pieces and improved protection against contamination.

Does the Round Nose Plate Magnet have high retention strength?

The Round Nose Plate magnet provides 11,000 gauss strength which allows for the retention area for metal fragments to get pushed to the back of the magnet and out of the product flow.

Why is a Round Nose Plate Magnet described as a 2 stage magnet?

The Round Nose Plate Magnet is a two-stage magnet. In the first stage, a deep-field magnet draws fragments to the plate. In the second stage, the plate’s end features a shallow field with high-intensity surface strength, securely holding fragments to prevent them from re-entering the product flow. The deep-field, low-intensity stage is ideal for capturing larger foreign metal particles, such as nuts and bolts, while the shallow-field, high-intensity stage is designed to capture smaller metal fines and shavings that a standard plate magnet might miss.

How do you clean a Round Nose Plate Magnet?

This design requires manual cleaning, where operators must remove collected metal by hand or using a scraper. They can do this by wiping the metal accumulations to one end of the rounded nose section of the magnet, allowing contaminants to be easily pulled off.

What is a Dimple-Mag Plate Magnet?

The RE80 Dimple-Mag magnetic plate enhances the flow and direction of the product. The dimples in the plate create turbulence behind the flow of the product and water, helping to capture build-up such as leaves, debris, and stalks. As the conveyed material moves toward the 11,000 gauss separation bar magnet, the dimples break it up and expose any magnetic fragments, maximizing extraction efficiency at the magnet’s retention point.
