Certifications

Magnattack® products are backed by industry-leading certifications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. Our magnetic separation solutions are certified by organizations such as HACCP International and USDA, demonstrating our commitment to compliance with stringent food safety and hygiene regulations. These certifications provide our clients with confidence that our products are suitable for use in food processing and other critical industries.

Magnattack® strives to comply with the most stringent food safety and quality standards

Magnattack is committed to adhering to rigorous food safety and quality standards in two key ways:

  1. By producing sanitary magnetic separation equipment with proven, effective, advanced, and certified designs, and
  2. By providing magnetic separation solutions that help our clients meet the necessary standards and audits for food processing.

USDA Acceptance

Since 2015, certain Magnattack Magnetic Separators have been certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for various magnetic separation designs in both the meat and poultry, as well as the dairy sectors.

These Include:

  • Mag-Ram® Self Cleaning Magnetic Separator
  • Rapidclean® Grate Magnet
  • Powder Transfer Magnet
  • Round Pipe Separator
  • Emulsion & Slurry Pipeline Separator

The USDA Acceptance Certification confirms that the design and functionality of Magnattack equipment meet the stringent sanitary and hygiene standards required in the meat and dairy industries.

CE

The CE mark stands for Conformité Européenne, or ‘European Conformity’, and indicates that a product sold within the European Economic Area (EEA) conforms with high health, safety, and environmental protection standards.

Magnattack magnetic separators were initially assessed in May 2015 and were deemed compliant with the CE regulations, which allows them to be supplied to customers within the EEA without restrictions.

Other Certifications

Seals, greases, and other components used in the manufacturing of Magnattack Magnetic Separators have been tested and confirmed to meet the required food industry standards and certifications. These materials are available to our clients upon request.

Important Note: It’s important to clarify that ‘compliance’ does not necessarily equate to ‘certification’. Some companies may claim certification by governing bodies or standards, but in reality, they may only meet certain aspects of a standard or assist food processing companies in achieving compliance. Magnattack is committed to transparency in our marketing and will only claim certification when it is genuinely held.

HACCP International Certification

HACCP International is a globally recognized certification body that focuses on non-food materials and equipment impacting food safety and quality. The yellow HACCP International certification mark provides clear assurance that a product or piece of equipment is safe for use in food processing environments.

In 2001, Magnattack became the first magnetic separator manufacturer in the world to achieve the HACCP Certification, offering our clients added confidence that our equipment is suitable for the food industry.

The Magnattack range of RE80® Magnetic Separators is HACCP International Certified and designed in accordance with the HACCP International Food Safety Standard 0909MAGSEP 2-2021. Magnattack collaborates with AMR Consulting to provide HACCP International-Certified Magnet Validation Reports. These reports go beyond basic magnet strength testing, providing detailed, comprehensive data on your metal fragment control systems. This information is essential for plant audits, your HACCP plan, and ensuring compliance with stringent food industry standards.

FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)

The FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) focuses on prevention by shifting the emphasis from responding to food contamination to actively preventing it. Under this Act, food processing companies must conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses of their operations, implement preventive controls to mitigate identified risks, and monitor, document, and adjust these controls as needed to ensure continuous risk reduction. High-risk facilities are required to undergo an audit or inspection at least once every three years.

Section 103 of the FSMA, which covers Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls, outlines the necessary components of a food safety plan for each facility. Magnattack Global and AMR Consulting assist food processing facilities in gathering the necessary data for this plan and conducting plant audits.

These steps include:

  • Hazard Analysis
  • Preventive Controls
  • Monitoring
  • Corrective Actions
  • Verification
  • Record Keeping

Magnattack and AMR offer HACCP-Certified Magnet Validation Reports and Risk Assessments that support each of these steps, specifically focusing on mitigating risks from physical hazards like metal contamination. If needed, a corrective action plan will also be provided, as required by Section 102 (Registration of Food Facilities).
